This project involved using GIS to analyze and identify potential freight parking locations for the Wyoming Department of Transportation (WyDOT) to support semi-trucks during high wind and snow events. The team integrated multiple spatial criteria—including slope, undeveloped land, minimum acreage requirements, land ownership, and proximity to freeway interchanges—into a geodatabase to assess site suitability. The analysis helped optimize decision-making by identifying the most viable locations for temporary truck parking. The final GIS data was structured to align with WyDOT specifications and can be used for future planning and infrastructure improvements.
