The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) 1800 North/I-15 Interchange, and 1800 North Widening project consists of design and construction of a new freeway interchange as well as widening of two miles of arterial roadway within two cities. With involvement of several engineering disciplines as well as coordination with more than 15 utilities, Hill Air Force Base, two cities, and other stakeholders, it was crucial to establish a method to share data throughout the project life cycle to facilitate better communication between parties. Gateway Mapping led the effort to gather, manage, and display reference and design data in a simple, but powerful, mapping application that reduced project risk and kept all parties informed.
