GMI supported completion of a transportation corridor plan for the Bannock County MPO in Pocatello Idaho for the Yellowstone Highway.   The project includes obtaining input from the public and corridor stakeholders to understand how they are affected and to understand how well the corridor functions. As part of the project a GIS web based technology called 3P Visual was built by the GMI development team to allow a simple way for citizens to provide feedback. Over 300 comments were received on the project. To comment a user can simply find their location of interest on the map and make their comment. This short simple system makes it easy to offer feedback and provides great access to a broader group of interested citizens. This technology and process has proven to produce more feedback than a series of open houses. The higher yield of feedback and fewer open houses produces better results and saves the client money.   In addition, because comments are tied to a location they can then be used along with other collected information to analyze where the BPO should focus their efforts for improvements and projects.
