The Huntington Rural Cemetery occupies 40 acres on Long Island, New York. The Cemetery was established in 1851, and it is the final resting place for over 11,000 people. For many cemeteries, the challenge of record keeping with paper records and paper maps has continued into the 21st century. To improve their record keeping process, Huntington Rural cemetery embarked on a project to modernize how they conducted business. They retained Gateway Mapping Inc. to create a digital version of their map. The cemetery selected Spatial GENERATIONS as the tool to manage their map and records. Spatial GENERATIONS allows cemetery administrators to see burial and ownership records, quickly find grave locations, and better keep records organized and up-to-date.
