In 2013, J-U-B Engineers Inc. (J-U-B) contracted with West Valley City to analyze the results of a telephone-based public opinion survey recently conducted by the City. Results of the survey were graphically presented and analyzed using a unique tool called 3P Visual. By plotting survey results on a map, the City was able to visualize trends and patterns of public opinion that would not have been otherwise apparent, and issues that were important to the citizens became readily visible. Survey questions visualized included topics such as safety, access to parks and recreational facilities, and the City’s garbage pickup services. By applying 3P Visual to the poll, City officials were better able to understand citizen concerns and make plans accordingly.
