Gateway Mapping, Inc. (GM)I helped the City of Murray, Utah to incorporate a third-party asset management software package into the City’s existing enterprise GIS based in ArcSDE and SQL Server. The City desired to use Spatial IM on several field laptops to track maintenance and repairs of City utilities. Working with City staff, a series of protocols was designed for transferring the data back and forth from SDE to the laptops. These protocols were simple and avoided unnecessary data loss or duplication. Murray City is now able to effectively use both their asset management system and their enterprise GIS.
