Over the years, Orem City has actively built a variety of web applications and maps for employees and citizens to use. These apps serve needs from public utilities, to snow plowing, to the cemetery. The combination of maps, data services, and other content entailed hundreds of data items. The City wanted to enhance the security in their system, but the task to hunt through and update all these items by hand was daunting. GMI built a script using the ArcGIS for Python Api. This script updated all the GIS data items to fit the updated security changes in a fraction of the time it would have taken to edit by hand.
