- Spatial IM requires a functioning version of Arc-GIS®, the popular desktop GIS software from ESRI, ArcView®, ArcEditor®, or ArcInfo® 9.2 or newer. See the ESRI website for specific ESRI system requirements.
- Spatial IM works with ESRI data in shapefiles, personal geodatabases, and file geodatabases.
- Spatial IM uses industry standards, including a Microsoft Access database and ESRI’s ArcView, ArcEditor, or ArcInfo.
- Spatial IM Enterprise, a powerful technology at an affordable price, is used if there is a need to synchronize information from multiple users. We recommend one Spatial IM Enterprise per department or organization.
- Spatial IM™ can be used in the field or office.
System Requirements - Microsoft Windows Vista, XP, or 2000 Processor: IBM Compatible, 1.6 GHz or better.

Operates inside ArcGIS
Spatial IM works only with ArcGIS (ArcView, ArcEditor or ArcInfo) by Environmental Systems Research Institute (ESRI). You will not be able use Spatial IM unless you have one of these programs. ArcGIS is the mapping side, Spatial IM is the data side. By designing Spatial IM around ArcGIS, we work with industry standards and add simplicity and functionality. Spatial IM is also designed to work with either data format (Shapefiles and Geodatabases).
