Getting Started

Every cemetery uses and maintains maps and records in slightly different ways. Some cemeteries already have a computer database, others maintain paper records. Some cemeteries have their maps in the computer and others have no maps at all.

Since Spatial GENERATIONS relies on computer maps and records, the following elements must be in place for Spatial GENERATIONS to operate:

  1. A computer generated map of the cemetery showing each grave. This must be created in a format compatible with Spatial GENERATIONS. Each grave must have a unique location address.
  2. A computer generated database structure. This too must be in a format compatible with  Spatial GENERATIONS. If the cemetery already has its database in the computer, each record must contain a unique grave address that relates to the map.

If you don’t have a computer map or database, don’t panic! Most cemeteries don’t. That is the purpose of Spatial GENERATIONS – to get information from vulnerable paper records into the computer so you can make multiple backups for safe keeping.

Let us help!

Our Gateway Mapping Team can analyze the status of your maps and records and outline a simple path to help you get your information into the computer. After 100 cemeteries, we’re pretty good at it.

  • Draw your map in the computer
  • Create a deceased and ownership database structure
  • Enter the data using trained data entry specialists
  • Link maps and data together

                   OR

  • We can guide you through the process of entering your own data, and we’ll link it to the map.

There is no charge to help you develop the scope or budget. Give us a call!
